Our History

 

Since the beginning of the United Fruit Company in the area by the 30´s, a young men looking for a job opportunity make him take a decision to leave his house and travel to a unexplored and remotes area in the central pacific which is call Quepos today. This young man was called Socorro Mora, the first pair of shoes on his live hi get from the banana company, part of the first train lines and bridges hi work on it. On those years the United Fruit Company use the flat lands for the bananas and the coast and mountain areas was not a useable, there is the reason some of the workers decide to take a piece of this lands and try to start a family! Years later the Costa Rican government will provide them the right of the lands for agriculture. The permission was provided to MR Socorro in March 20th of 1949.

Mr. Socorro Mora married with MS Maria Josepha and have 7 kids, all of them work in the land and had a piece of this. The rest of the land (300 acres) is own by Mr. Juan Mora the youngest of the boys. Today Mr. Juan with his son Randall Mora is trying to protect and create a legacy from Mr. Socorro, hi was a passionate of the nature and the wild live.

In 2014 Randall and Mr. Juan decide to start a Horseback Riding tour Company which is call RANCHO TIPICO DON JUAN. Randall decide to call the business with this name in honor of his father.

Mr. Juan and Randall born and rise on this land and both promise to protect and keep for the next generations the legacy from Mr. Socorro Mora
